Can someone please give me a thorough explanation of who the baby boomers were?
I understand that the baby boomers were between the years 1946 and 1964, but who were they exactly?
Why did this happen?
Why are they such a big problem (socially, economically, etc)?
If you can provide answers to any important questions I didn’t ask, please do so.

Soldiers returning home from WWII came home to wives and “sweethearts” that they had obviously missed..so one thing led to another and bada bing, babies were born.
So this generation of babies, called the baby boomers were a very large generation of people.
Now we are having problems because the baby boomers are becoming elderly and are now turning to social security and welfare as they all go into their retirement. But our system cannot support so many people depending on the welfare.
