I am on the same boat. I’m 24 turning 25 and my parents were born in 42 and 46. Both are at the older edge of the baby boomer generation and both are retiring very soon. I think we need to learn from our parents mistakes so we don’t put a lot of shit for our children.
I have independently come to the same conclusions as Dennis Prager. It’s very exciting.
I’m 23 too, my parents were born in the baby boom generation, but they taught me morals and values. It’s a sad genereation, and I don’t think it will get any better. Atleast growing up in the 90′s, I could say I actually had a childhood. These kids today don’t know what a childhood is.
Even with the racism of the first half of the 20th century, blacks had it better than they have it now in terms of violence and drugs, aids, and out of wedlock children. And for every one else it was a golden age, men were men, women were women, I was born to late.
This is a great segment.
I know exactly how you feel…
I am 23 years old. Just graduated college. Im living in a lost generation. My parents were born in 44 and 47.
They lived lives that were far more meaningful than the “lives,” lived today.
I dont know what people make and produce now besides money…but really its only spent not earned*
i dunno…
You can read Socrates and hear the same complaints.
Usually I agree w/Dennis, IMHO the Baby Boomer generation has not had it all that easy.
The Baby Boomers have transferred wealth to their parents through high interest rates for mortgages on their first homes, FICA taxes to fund their parents retirement and health care costs, and through funding our government services with much higher taxes than their parents. The marginal rates weren’t as high, but the percentage actually paid is higher.
